OUR HISTORY
Stratagraph was established in 1961 by well-known race car driver Billy J. Hagan. Starting with little more than a couple of logging units, some first-generation equipment, and a true entrepreneurial spirit, Mr. Hagan set on a journey that is still going strong today.
Over the course of our 62-year history, we have risen to the pinnacle of our industry. Fueled by a desire and ability to constantly improve on existing systems, we have consistently enhanced our abilities to protect, detect, evaluate and record the data of oil drilling functions.
With a history of operations worldwide, we have grown to be one of the largest independent logging companies currently in operation. Not only are we competitive with much larger corporate-owned companies in the industry, but our experience in the Gulf Coast is unsurpassed in both the number of wells and feet logged.
Due to Mr. Hagan’s intense interest in automobile racing, Stratagraph has fielded several race teams of various types through the years, most notably in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now NEXTEL Cup Series ) and in IMSA sports car events and endurance racing. Teams owned by Mr. Hagan and partly sponsored by Stratagraph have featured drivers Terry Labonte, Cale Yarborough, Dick Brooks, Sterling Marlin, and John Andretti. In 1984, the Piedmont Airlines Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by Labonte, won the Winston Cup Championship
